Queen of the Prairie is a native perennial flower that grows in wetlands along rivers and springs and in moist meadows and prairies throughout the central and eastern United States. When fully grown, this plant can reach 6-8 feet tall. It has 4-6 inch lance-shaped leaflets that emit a pleasant fragrance. Additionally, it produces Astilbe-like panicles (also known as corymbs) that spread 6-9 inches wide. These panicles contain small, pale pink flowers that omit a lovely fragrance. This plant attracts bees, is resistant to deer, has medicinal properties, self-sows, and is used as a cut flower! Â
